Watermelon juice in glass. Fruit: A Simple Pleasure

In Bali’s monsoon season, a wide variety of locally-grown tropic fruits are available, including oranges, sweetly sour salak (snake fruit), papaya, passion fruit (also called Balinese grapes), grapes, melons, wani (Balinese mango), banana, apples (including "Manalagi," which is actually imported from the Batu highlands of eastern Java), and watermelon, shown in juice form here. Seasonal fruits like rambutan, durian, mango, and manggis are rare unless found in-season.
