Ode to Orbit
Specifically, to the Farsi
doret begardam,
around you, I turn or
let me circle you or
empathize with you or
tend to your need or
I would do anything
for you, it is
the cosmic sparkle of
this endearing phrase that I love,
how instantly I become
an earth of praise
when you appear, you speak
and I am in forward motion
arced along the pull
of your heat, I am told
even a particle of light these days
is reason to live, let alone
a whole star, so I rotate
about you, for all of you, for
the shadows behind your earlobes,
your shoulder blades scrunched
in concentration, the outline
of your still profile,
doret begardam, you glow,
glow wholly on your own
but me, my love, I spin and roll
and wheel and twirl
and spiral and orbit
you and float
in this void and only
half of me
shines
