Charles Goodrich is the author of five books of poetry, most recently Knot House: New & Selected Poems (Empty Bowl Press, 2026). He’s also published a book of narrative essays, The Practice of Home, and a novel, Weave Me a Crooked Basket. His poems and prose writings have appeared in Orion, The Sun, Terrain.org, and many other publications. To support his writing habit, Charles worked for 25 years as a professional gardener, then served as the director of the Spring Creek Project for Ideas, Nature, and the Written Word at Oregon State University.
