Hal Harvey is the executive director of The Energy Foundation, a non-profit foundation whose mission is to assist in the nation's transition to a sustainable energy future by promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy. With a budget of nearly $12 million per year, the foundation acts primarily as a grant-maker, though it may take other direct action when it identifies an unmet need in the field.
